Our
parents purchased the main
farm in 1947 and, beginning
in 1993, the three of us
have gradually converted it
from a successful livestock
operation to one with about
200,000 Christmas trees. We
are pleased that our
children are intensely
interested in inheriting the
farm, just as their
Granddaddy had wished.
We have benefited greatly
from attending educational
meetings and on-farm
clinics, consulting with
university personnel and
knowledgeable growers, and
participating in grower
organizations. We hold
memberships in the National
Christmas Tree Association,
Virginia Christmas Tree
Growers Association, North
Carolina Christmas Tree
Association, Mount Rogers
Area Christmas Tree Growers
Association, Ashe County
Christmas Tree Association,
and Alleghany Christmas Tree
Association. |
